How do I start my game?
You will receive a confirmation email with the number you need to text. The confirmation email will also include instructions on what you need to message to this number via WhatsApp in order to start the game. If you have any issues at all with your booking confirmation, please email customersupport@urban.missions.co.uk.
Can multiple people send and receive messages?
Yes, you will be asked to create a team name at the beginning of the mission and during your game anyone who texts ‘Join *team name*’ will start receiving the same messages and will be able to respond to them.
What do I need to bring on the day?
A phone is the most important thing - you will need this in order to receive your clues. As our missions take approximately 3 hours, you will need to ensure your phone has sufficient charge. We recommend you bring along a power bank/portable charger if you have one and as this is England, an umbrella never goes amiss. We send videos and voice notes, so we would recommend you bring earphones if you have them.
Does Urban Missions cater for corporate events?
Yes, absolutely. Currently, we can hold corporate events for up to 25 people, and try to accommodate groups of up to 50 people whenever we can. Please contact customersupport@urbanmissions.co.uk for more information.
Can I play Urban Missions any time I want?
Yes, you can play any time there is a booking slot free on the website. Each time slot allows for several teams to start the game at the same time. This allows groups to play against each other.
Do I have to go into the pubs?
Yes - although our mission includes interaction with pubs, there is no expectation for you to purchase anything. This is entirely up to you. However, if you do wish to purchase food or drinks - alcoholic or non-alcoholic - in the pubs partnered with us during the mission, you will get a discount.
Can I play Urban Missions without a UK mobile?
Yes - Urban Missions’ automated messaging is all on WhatsApp. This means it doesn't matter whether you have a UK mobile number or not. Provided you have access to roaming data, you can play.
How long will messages take to get through to me?
Generally, this should only take a few seconds, although your signal strength can influence this. If you are experiencing delays, you may want to try restarting your phone or entering an area with better signal.
Is there an age limit to playing?
Under 18s are only allowed to play if they are supervised by an adult, as parts of the trail lead players to locations where children would need to be accompanied by an adult. The mission may also be too difficult for children.
Can wheelchair users/parents with buggies play?
Our missions are step-free but it is worth bearing in mind that there will be a lot of walking involved in our missions - sometimes in busy areas. We would, however, welcome anyone to give this a go and provide us with feedback on your experiences.
Are your missions suitable for people with autism?
We have not had feedback on our mission's suitability for players on the autism spectrum. It is worth being aware that the mission requires players to enter busy pubs and public areas.
Will I be able to play if I don’t know the city?
Yes - our missions are designed for tourists as well as locals. No previous knowledge of the area is required.
Can the game be played in multiple languages?
We plan to provide multilingual versions in the near future, but currently the only language available is English. We do provide 2 hints for every clue, so if you are struggling you can ask for a hint to help you along.
How do I pay?
You can pay on our website by clicking on 'book' in the menu and paying by credit or debit card. We only take up-front payments.
How can I know when you launch new games?
We are active on both

Facebook and will be posting regularly to keep you updated about future missions.
What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy varies according to the time of year. As we appreciate that this event can be affected by weather, you will be eligible for a 100% refund if you cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your booking in the months from October to March. If you cancel your booking after this window (last minute cancellation), you will be refunded only 50% of your ticket. For the rest of the year, we provide a 100% refund for cancellations up to 72 hours before your booking. Last minute cancellations that occur within 72 hours of your booking will be refunded 50% of the ticket.
Can I get involved in user-testing?
As we are a new company, we are only at the beginning of developing our missions and are currently looking for new ideas and feedback. Please email customersupport@urbanmissions.co.uk to express your interest and we will get in touch to let you know what we need support with.
